History
Chur has one of the most intact old towns in Switzerland. It has been continuously restored over the past 20 years and is now almost completely traffic-free. With a settlement history of over 5000 years, Chur is one of the oldest cities in Switzerland.
The history of the Hotel Franziskaner begins at the end of the 18th century. During this time, the building served as hotel for the delivery boys as well as depot for the brewery „Franziskaner-Keller“ in Munich. At the beginning the hotel was run under the name "Rhätia". At the beginning of the 20th century, it was given the current name Franziskaner.
